So in a nod to my earlier @habitforming, I’m taking a dare from Live Your Legend: blog daily for 7 days. The catch for me? I’m taking their first-post recommendation seriously: tell your story, in about a paragraph.
You have got to be kidding me. I write poetry because I don’t write short for beans. (Plus I like white space, which mucks with that whole “one paragraph” format. But I digress… SEE!)
My story for today: I am here writing on March 1, taking on this dare, for two reasons. One: nothing will be injured by trying. Two: Live Your Legend swears by this as a way to cross the gap to one’s heart’s work. I am a writer – have always been a writer – but I haven’t yet been writer-primary. I don’t know what that looks like for me, despite reading a whole book on how other writers do it. Despite spending 15 months kicking the writer-primary tires. And I don’t believe 7 days is going to lift my confusion. But the great thing about this is that I don’t have to believe anything. I can write – which is great, like breathing – and I can wait, and I can see.
Here goes!
