jumu’ah, pizza, cookies

I attended my first Muslim worship gathering today. It was about as I thought it might be (see: college student faith outreach center). I didn’t stop to consider how much I’d wish I knew Arabic… evidently understanding what’s said in worship is a deeply-embedded custom for me.

By the time I made it back to South Austin, I just wanted pizza and books. (Too old for Netflix and chill, especially on a Friday-!) And then My Sweetie decided to make chocolate chip cookies (WITH PECANS because that’s how God intended them).

So here’s something lovely. Now I’ll go read my book.

Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness. -Brené Brown
