Tonight M and I managed to make our symphony date for the first time since… 2017? Anyway, we were treated to Mr. Cameron Carpenter’s amazing skill and musicality on his transportable organ (?!? but yes!), featuring Joseph Jongen’s Symphonie Concertante for Grand Organ and Orchestra, Op. 81:

It’s a large (musical) canvas, and there was a lot of paint on it.

Um. Lots.

On the other hand, Carpenter’s improvisations on “World of Pure Imagination” were a heartfelt delight.
