Not the foolish kind

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds…”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson

There is a small muscle on the upper left rear of my scalp that is jumping, and a significant portion of my attention is attached to monitoring it. I am staring into space without realizing it for pauses that could be as long as a minute…if only I realized what I was doing and could time it. In short, my brain is full of marshmallows.

Today is the first day of the Austin International Poetry Festival. This is my second year attending. So far today I’ve checked myself and my friend in, and listened to a workshop that turned out to be all about a debate I didn’t realize the Poetic World was having.

(Mind you, the state of my brain has nothing to do with the Festival, and everything to do with half-plates. The Festival connection? My generative power expired during check-in and workshop. Buh-bye.)

I’ll be heading back into the Festival tonight, with my friend, to listen to a reading. At this moment, I think that’s heading for the outside limit of my mental powers.

BUT
I continue in consistently setting out a daily post, marshmallows and all. Sweet!
